    🔧 STEP-BY-STEP SETUP


    1️⃣ Set a Daily Shutdown Alarm (2 minutes)

    • Use your phone’s alarm or reminder app.

    • Set it to 6:55 PM titled: “Shutdown now. Work is DONE.”

    Bonus Tip: Use a calming sound—train your brain to relax when it goes off.


    2️⃣ Auto-Block Work Apps with Downtime Mode (iOS/Android) (3 minutes)

    iPhone:

    • Go to Settings > Screen Time > Downtime

    • Set downtime from 7PM to 7AM

    • Add Slack, Email, Teams, Zoom to the blocked list

    Android:

    • Go to Digital Wellbeing > Focus Mode

    • Create a custom schedule for 7PM–7AM

    • Add your work apps to the list


    3️⃣ Turn Off Notifications for Work Email (2 minutes)

    Gmail/Outlook App:

    • Go to Settings > Notifications

    • Switch to “None” or “Only Priority” during evenings

    • Or manually switch accounts OFF at 7PM


    4️⃣ Create a 3-Minute Shutdown Ritual (3 minutes)

    Before the 7PM alarm goes off, spend 3 minutes doing this:

    • Write down tomorrow’s 3 key tasks

    • Say out loud: “Work is done. I’ll pick this up tomorrow.”

    • Close your laptop and physically move away from your workspace

    Why it works: You’re signaling to your brain that it’s safe to power down.
